🧠 Kyungmin’s design philosophy
Ideas are nothing without implementation.
Ideas are merely seeds; their true value emerges through implementation. While a strong idea is essential, it is the execution that breathes life into it. Great designs thrive on meticulous execution, turning visions into reality.
Alignment is key.
Establishing a clear vision and goal for a product is challenging, but achieving consensus among the team is even harder. The real test lies in collaborative planning and execution, united by that shared vision. A cohesive team drives success.
Attention to details.
Designers must be obsessed with details and heavily involved in the implementation phase with engineers and PMs to ensure that their designs are implemented pixel-perfect. Even the smallest details can have a big impact on the user experience.
UX is product excellence.
User experience transcends design; it defines product excellence. Every team member should prioritize UX, and designers must champion this focus to cultivate outstanding products that resonate with users.
Trust your instincts.
Put the user first, but remember user-centered design doesn't mean users always know what they want or need. Sometimes you have to trust your instinct and make decisions that you believe are in the best interest of the user, even if those decisions are not always what the user explicitly asks for.
Be opinionated yet adaptable.
Be opinionated enough to be confident, but also flexible enough to always revisit your perspective. Design is an iterative process, and it's important to be open to new feedback and ideas.
